Martin Rev was half of the iconic proto-punk duo Suicide, and continues to make boundary-pushing music which he tours around the globe. Their Battle Category will be Jazz, and dude knows his shit! One of our city’s greatest newer artists will be joining me to kick off the episode: Lollise mixes sounds and languages from her native Botswana and her longtime home of New York, and just dropped one of the most exciting LPs of the year with ‘I Hit The Water’. Lollise is sought-after fashion designer who hand-makes her iconic stage outfits, so our Battle Category will be Fashion x Music.
