The Hefker Girl

Founders of the Penny Farm is a programmatic-project by Talia Rudofsky, also known as ‘The Hefker Girl’, Hefker being a Yiddish term for ‘ownerless property and renunciation of ownership’. Through the archival pirate radio recordings and copyrighted riddims, The Hefker Girl continues to question ownership, and creates a sound that becomes a place to bring together the democratic nature of music. through the connecting threads of famous riddims that span across genres, Founders of the Penny Farm showcases the infusion of uk sound, spilling into other genres such as jungle, street soul, and dub.
