Florence Adooni is part of the extremely vibrant frafra gospel scene in Ghana and one of the most exciting voices of her generation. Born and raised in the Ashanti capital of Kumasi, the epicenter of high-life music, her style differs from the original frafra gospel as it is played in northern Ghana. Surrounded by the best young high-life musicians in the city, she now uniquely combines the soul of the northern savannah with the sound of the rainforest region, fusing the best of both cultures into a unique event. Her debut single “Mam Pe’ela Su’ure” has been well received both in Ghana and in many other parts of the world.
Jan Lankisch met Florence and the mastermind of the project, producer Max Weißenfeld, before their concert in Cologne and talked to both of them about their extraordinary musical friendship. Tune in Saturday the 26th at 10am ET with Jan Lankisch on The Cologne Affair.
