
Industrial powerhouse Martin Atkins joins Neonlichter on Playing Out Of Time this Friday June 5 from 4-6 PM, marking the 30th anniversary reissue album of the Pigface & Genesis P-Orridge album The Howler, out now on Overdrive Records. running the gamut from the communities and cross pollination of the post-punk / industrial / house scenes in 1980s Chicago, technological advancements and methods of teaching the next generation of producers and musicians, and the strange wonderful trip that was creating The Howler. Martin’s rhythms and production credits read like an encyclopedia of hard-edged music of the past 40+ years: Pigface, Public Image Limited, Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, Killing Joke, Brian Brain, Skinny Puppy, Revolting Cocks, Swans, and The Damage Manual among others. The long-time Chicago resident has written essential books on touring (Band:Smart), taught and lectured at multiple colleges on the business of the music industry, started Invisible Records as an outlet for countless groups, and is the founder of the Museum of Post Punk and Industrial Music (PPIM).
