Legendary American Industrial outfit Boy Dirt Car on Two Hours In Tongues, October 9, making their East Coast debut

BDC will join Mister Mike in the booth on Two Hours In Tongues this Friday 12-2pm for a live performance, discussion, and co-DJ set in advance of their first ever NYC concert appearance on Saturday at Fringe Records.

Boy Dirt Car was founded in 1981 by Darren Brown and Eric Lunde after meeting Glenn Branca at a Chicago noise-music festival. With an evolving lineup and adventurous approach to composition and performance that included tape experimentation, homemade gear, found percussion, and unconventional instrumentation, the group became Milwaukee’s “preeminent punk-noise-industrial outfit who originally roamed the state and country from roughly 1981 ’til 1989”, with ties to and shared membership with fellow Midwestern outsider trailblazers F/i and Die Kreuzen.

In their 45 years of existence, BDC have shared stages with Einstürzende Neubauten(to whom they established themselves as the American answer to), Sonic Youth, Psychic TV, Shockabilly, Big Black, TSOL, Pussy Galore, Fred Frith, Z’ev, Drekka, Illusion of Safety and more. The band has issued recordings through labels like RRRecords, Sub Pop, Industrial Coast, No Rent Records, After Music Recordings, and Lexicon Devil. Boy Dirt Car now call Minnesota their home base.
