Join host Vivid Oblivion as John Cooper Clarke and Mike Garry stop by Two Hours In A Cellar Under A Lightbulb Tuesday night 8-10 pm ET for a quick chat, ahead of their US Tour hitting Le Poisson Rouge on Wednesday night. In the late 70s Clarke styled himself as a “punk poet” of rapid-fire delivery, even scoring a top 40 UK hit. He toured with Linton Kwesi Johnson, and performed on the same bill as bands such as the Sex Pistols, the Fall, Joy Division, Buzzcocks, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Elvis Costello, Rockpile and New Order. Joining Clarke in studio and at LPR is fellow Mancunian poet Mike Garry, veteran of performances throughout the UK, quite often on BBC, and was championed by Philip Glass, for whom he composed a libretto.
