Chris Stein and Barbara Sicuranza join Forty Deuce August 14th

Friday, August 14th 6-8pm ET: Forty Deuce Radio couldn’t be more excited to welcome our next guests: Chris Stein and Barbara Sicuranza. Some people help shape New York culture. Chris Stein helped define it.
Musician, songwriter, producer, photographer, author—a true New Yorker through and through—Chris has lived a life that’s impossible to fit into a single conversation. As co-founder and guitarist of the legendary band Blondie, he helped create the soundtrack of an era and changed popular music forever.
Raised in Brooklyn, Chris attended Midwood High School before being expelled for his long hair—a fitting beginning for someone who would go on to challenge every convention. In 1973, he joined the Stilettoes, where he met Debbie Harry. A year later they formed Blondie, becoming central figures in the CBGB and Max’s Kansas City scene before exploding onto the world stage.
Chris co-wrote some of Blondie’s biggest classics, including “Heart of Glass,” “Dreaming,” “Rapture,” “Rip Her to Shreds,” and “Island of Lost Souls,” while also writing “Sunday Girl.” Beyond Blondie, he co-hosted the groundbreaking public-access show TV Party, ran Animal Records, produced the iconic soundtrack to Wild Style, and worked with artists including Iggy Pop and The Gun Club.
As a photographer, Chris created an extraordinary visual record of New York’s punk explosion, documenting everyone from Debbie Harry and Blondie to Andy Warhol and H.R. Giger. His books—Negative: Me, Blondie, and the Advent of Punk, H.R. Giger: Debbie Harry Metamorphosis, and his acclaimed memoir Under a Rock—offer an intimate look at the people, places, and moments that shaped downtown New York.
Joining Chris is his wife of 27 years, Barbara Sicuranza —actress, photographer, creative force, and the mother of their two children. Barbara has long shared Chris’s passion for art, photography, and storytelling, making this a conversation we’re especially looking forward to.
