Joe Morris on the East Village Radio Jazz Show June 19th

Down Beat calls him “the preeminent free music guitarist of his generation,” and The Wire praises him as “one of the most profound improvisers at work in the U.S.” A master of everything from the guitar and double bass to banjo and drums, Morris has spent decades rewriting the rules of improvised music. This special appearance comes at a momentous time, as Morris is set to be honored with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s Vision Festival.  Expect an hour of deep and not so deep conversation, selected tracks and insights of one of modern music’s most original voices.The show will be available to listen via the EVR Archives in the coming days.
