We are thrilled to announce a new monthly East Village Radio show, The Cologne Affair, hosted by Jan Lankisch. Every 4th Saturday of the month 10 a.m.–12 noon Eastern Time (ET), 4–6 p.m. Central European Time (CET). Jan Lankisch is a Cologne based cultural curator and music promoter known for his work in the independent music scene. He co-founded the German music festival Week-End Fest, which is renowned for its eclectic and high-quality line-ups, bringing together legendary artists and emerging talent from around the world. Lankisch is driven by his passion for music, his curatorial vision, and his ability to create intimate, memorable experiences for audiences. The Cologne Affair features interviews and music by artists he has invited to play in his home town of Cologne or has discovered on his many travels. Ideas are exchanged and a shared love of music celebrated. Episode #1 arrives this Saturday, April 26, with special guest Nicky Siano. Very special thanks Suzanne Ciani for the jingle.

New York DJ legend Nicky Siano opened The Gallery in 1973 and later became a resident DJ at Studio 54. He helped shape the New York disco scene like no one else and played a key role in popularizing the sound worldwide. Jan Lankisch invited Siano for a residency at his Cologne-based festival, Week-End Fest, for a DJ set and remix project, and the two became friends. On March 18, 2025, Siano turned 70, and Lankisch visited him for a flamboyant birthday party at Coney Island’s El Dorado Disco bumper cars, where Siano played music all night long. The two caught up a week later to reflect on Nicky’s career spanning over 50 years.
